Welcome to Pod Against the Machine, the only Actual Play podcast that specifically mentions its opposition to the machine in the title. We’re a ragtag group of five creating an epic story while playing through the Iron Gods Pathfinder First Edition adventure path from Paizo publishing. It’s like Dungeons and Dragons, complete with wizards, monsters, and skeletons...but with an added bonus of evil robots and horrifying aliens, all tied together with our (hopefully) funny banter, interesting characters, and edge-of-your-seat action.

Eight days ago, the purple flame atop Black Hill in the heart of the town of Torch flickered out. The entire economy of Torch depends on that unique flame, which burns so hot it can melt skymetal. Smiths normally travel to Torch from all over Golarion. Normally. But now they're leaving town, taking the lifeblood of the town with them. Brave souls have been journeying into the caves under the hill to try to relight the flame...but they haven't been coming back.
Thank you for joining us on this very first episode of Pod Against the Machine! Over the next several hundred hours, we're going to be playing through all six books of the Iron Gods adventure path from Paizo Publishing. This episode kicks off Book 1: Fires of Creation by Neil Spicer.
